The guides, comparisons, and cost pages on this site are published to help business owners make better decisions about hiring a designer. They are general information about how the industry works.

They are not advice about your specific situation. Your market, budget, competitors, and existing website all change what the right answer is, and we cannot account for those in an article. If a decision matters, get advice from someone who knows your circumstances.

Nothing on this site creates a client relationship. That begins only when we have both signed a proposal.

We do not publish prices

This site does not carry a price list. Every project is quoted individually, because a range that fits one business rarely fits the next, and a published figure invites people to budget against a number that was never meant for them.

Where we describe what moves a price — page count, custom design work, ecommerce, integrations, content readiness — that is general guidance about how web design projects are costed. It is not an offer and does not bind either of us.

Only a written proposal is a quote. It states a fixed price for a defined scope, and nothing is added to it without your written approval. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless the proposal says otherwise.

Quoted prices exclude [VAT / sales tax] and third-party costs such as domains, hosting, premium themes, plugins and stock images. We tell you about those before incurring them.

We do not guarantee results

This matters more than anything else on this page, so we will be blunt about it.

A well-built website improves your chances of being found and of converting the people who find you. It does not guarantee traffic, search rankings, enquiries, or revenue. Anyone promising you a specific position in Google, a specific number of leads, or a specific return is either guessing or misleading you.

Outcomes depend on your market, your pricing, your competitors, your reputation, how you promote the site after launch, and ranking decisions made by search engines that nobody outside those companies controls.

Where we describe a project outcome in our portfolio, that is what happened for that client in their circumstances. It is not a prediction of what will happen for you.

Case studies and testimonials

Projects shown in our portfolio describe real work. Figures such as load times, enquiry volumes, or timelines are reported as accurately as we can measure them, and in some cases come from the client rather than from our own analytics.

Individual results vary. Any outcome we report happened for one client, in one market, against one set of competitors, from one starting position. None of those will match yours exactly.

Client names are used with permission. Any client may ask us to remove their project at any time by emailing contact@hire-web-designer.com.

Not professional advice

Some of our guides touch on contracts, ownership of intellectual property, invoicing, and terms of business — for instance our contract template and our guide on who owns your website.

We are web designers, not lawyers or accountants. Those resources are practical starting points written in plain language, not legal, tax, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for professional advice in your jurisdiction. Law differs between countries and states, and it changes.

Have a solicitor or attorney review any contract before you rely on it. Our own terms of service are a separate document and do govern our work. We accept no liability for decisions made solely on the basis of a template published here.

Third-party platforms and accuracy

We write about WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Upwork, Fiverr, and others. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any of them unless we say so explicitly. Their names and trademarks belong to them.

Those platforms change their features, pricing, and terms frequently, and often without notice. Information about them was accurate when written but may have gone out of date since. Always check the platform's own site before making a decision based on what we have said.

We review content periodically but cannot guarantee that every page is current at the moment you read it.

Where we link to another site, it is because we think it is useful, and our disclosure page explains when a link may earn us a commission. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices.
