Web design for law firms

A law firm site is a trust document. Someone is deciding whether to hand you a problem that matters to them.

The design job is mostly restraint: clear structure, credible people, and no claims that create regulatory problems.

What the site needs to do

  • A page per practice area. People search for their specific problem, not for "solicitor".
  • Real profiles with real photographs. Clients choose a person, not a firm.
  • Regulatory information where it is required and easy to find.
  • Plain language. Someone reading at a stressful moment should not need a dictionary.
  • An obvious way to make contact that does not feel like committing to anything.

Compliance is part of the brief

Regulated professions have disclosure requirements that a general web designer may not know about — regulator details, complaints procedures, price transparency rules where they apply.

We will build what you tell us is required and put it where it needs to be, but the responsibility for knowing your regulator's current rules sits with you. Ask your compliance lead before sign-off, not after.

Common questions

01How many practice area pages do we need?

One per area you actually want work in. Each is a separate search intent, and a single 'services' page competes for none of them well. Six good pages beat twenty thin ones.

02Do we need individual solicitor profiles?

Yes. They are among the most visited pages on any law firm site. People want to see who they would be dealing with before they call.

03Can you write our content?

We can structure and edit it, but legal content should be written or approved by the fee earners who do the work. Accuracy matters more than polish here.
